Dom Lampa is one of the most distinctive and characteristic voices in current Brazilian Ragga/Rap/Reggae. With his warm voice, strong melodies, and versatility, Dom Lampa effortlessly navigates through Brazilian music (Forró, samba, bossa nova), Latin sounds (Cumbia, Milonga, Chicha), and Jazz/Funky/Soul.
After dozens of projects in Brazil and Europe throughout his career, Dom Lampa has been living in Ticino (Switzerland) for the past 6 years, presenting concerts, workshops, and running a studio-lab/music school. Dom Lampa is a singer, MC, producer, composer, performer, and singjay.
Born and raised in the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, Dom Lampa began his career in 1997 with the rap group Julgados Culpados, gaining recognition in the underground scene of São Paulo. He made a mark on programs like Yo MTV Raps and Radiola Tv Culture, a show curated by the son of Elis Regina.
In the early 2000s, he transitioned into a reggae singer with the band Usina Reggae, achieving fame with the hit "A Mulher e o Lago," a classic in Brazilian reggae.
In 2002, he was invited to record an album with the band Orbitais on the Arsenal/Sony Music label, produced by the renowned Rick Bonadio. This marked the beginning of extensive touring throughout Brazil, performing with renowned bands like Natiruts and appearing on television programs such as Bem Brasil—a historic show featuring all the great names of Brazil, from Hermeto Pascoal to Caetano Veloso.
In 2006, he formed the reggae rock band Bless Fya, becoming the main opening act for international giants like Alpha Blonde, Gladiators, and Groundation, among others. The band received awards for the best band of the year and new band. In 2008, Dom Lampa was invited to be the MC for one of the most famous Brazilian reggae bands, Maskavo. A new version of Julgados Culpados in the Sound System Version was created, and they toured from the north to the south of Brazil, performing in over 250 shows in 2 years.
In 2012, he founded the Mocadão project, releasing an album with international partnerships like Lion International (USA) and Blend Mishkin (GR), and performing at significant festivals such as Virada Cultural in São Paulo and raves throughout the southeast and south of the country.
In 2014, he initiated a project revisiting Brazilian music classics in reggae versions, MPReggae, touring across Brazil and playing at major festivals like Universo Paralello.
In 2016, he joined the group Ciganos em Fuga, starting with a tour at Sesc in São Paulo and then continuing with a three-month Eurotour in 10 countries.
In 2017, he returned to Europe with Ciganos em Fuga, completing another 3-month tour, and in 2019, he came to live in Switzerland. Between solo exhibitions and projects like "Left and Right" and "Dom Lampa Trio," Dom Lampa now presents his new project:
Lampa Sexta Feira, accompanied by musicians Marco Lastella (Bass) and Daniel Bagutti (Drums).
